Tarón Tempranillo Blanco 2024: freshness, elegance and character
30/06/2026The date has now been set for the fourth edition of Bodegas Tarón’s First Wine Cycle Ride. Next Saturday, 31 October, at 9.00 am, cyclists will once again ride through the Tarón region on a day that brings together cycling, scenery, wine and charity.
Conceived as a non-competitive cycle tour, the event invites participants to enjoy cycling and the scenery of the Rioja Alta without stopwatches or rankings, sharing a day centred on sport, the region and its people.
Registration is now open via the Rock The Sport platform and, as usual, the walk will have a very special charitable cause: on this occasion, the proceeds will go to ASPACE Rioja.
This will be the fourth edition of an initiative that was launched to enjoy cycling in a different way, exploring the Bodegas Tarón estate and paying tribute to those who have been tending its vineyards for generations.

Cycling through the vineyards of Rioja Alta
The walk will once again take place in the Tarón region, setting off from Bodegas Tarón and winding its way through the countryside of Rioja Alta at one of the most special times of the year.
Vineyards bathed in autumn colours, small villages and roads winding through the vineyards will form the backdrop to a day where cycling goes hand in hand with a tribute to the region and its winegrowers.
The celebration also coincides with the arrival of the first wine from the new vintage, following the intense weeks of the grape harvest. It is a particularly symbolic date for Bodegas Tarón and for the people who tend its vineyards throughout the year.

A march that is growing without losing its essence
Last year’s event once again demonstrated this initiative’s ability to bring together cycling, the local area and solidarity. Nearly 200 participants completed the 56-kilometre ride, accompanied by some of cycling’s biggest names, including Claudio Chiappucci, Joane Somarriba, Marino Lejarreta, David López, Javier Pascual Llorente and Ramontxu González Arrieta.
During the tour, there was also an opportunity to recognise winegrowers from the villages of Territorio Tarón, reinforcing one of the objectives that gave rise to this initiative: to pay tribute to those who have tended these lands generation after generation.
The charitable aspect also played a significant role. The 2025 event raised 5,630 euros, all of which went to ARDEM and ASBEM.
In 2026, this commitment continues, and the beneficiary organisation of the 4th ‘Primer Vino’ Cycle Ride will be ASPACE Rioja.
