Discover the soils that give the wines of Territorio Tarón their distinctive character
25/06/2026The new vintage of Tarón Tempranillo Blanco 2024 is now available. This wine reflects the potential of one of the most distinctive grape varieties in the DOCa Rioja and combines freshness, elegance and careful ageing to offer a nuanced drinking experience.
At Bodegas Tarón, we cultivate 7 hectares of Tempranillo Blanco, situated at an altitude of 600 metres, where the cooler temperatures allow for slow ripening and excellent preservation of the natural acidity – two key aspects of this wine’s character.
Tarón Tempranillo Blanco 2024 is the embodiment of a unique grape variety and a exceptional terroir. A wine that combines innovation and tradition, crafted with the same respect for the vineyard that characterises Bodegas Tarón.
A variety found nowhere else in the world
Tempranillo Blanco originated in Rioja in 1988 as a result of a natural mutation of the red Tempranillo variety discovered in Murillo de Río Leza.
Although it shares its origins with Rioja’s most iconic red grape variety, it has a distinct character. “It is a variety with its own identity – very aromatic, fresh and with great potential for ageing,” explains Laura Manzanos, winemaker at Bodegas Tarón.
At Bodegas Tarón, we aim to allow the grape variety to express itself as naturally as possible. To this end, following fermentation, the wine is left to age for six months on its lees in American oak barrels; this ageing process imparts greater body, complexity and an enveloping texture, whilst preserving the freshness that characterises the variety.
The result is a well-balanced wine that pairs well with food, in which the fruit, acidity and ageing come together in harmony.
A new vintage that invites you to discover a different way of appreciating Rioja’s great white wines.

On the nose, it is elegant and expressive, with aromas of white fruit, citrus and delicate floral notes, accompanied by the subtle hints imparted by ageing on the lees. On the palate, it is fresh, balanced and enveloping; the acidity provides tension and length, whilst the ageing adds body and a persistent, elegant finish.
