Bodegas Tarón presents the 1st First Wine Cycle Ride, a tribute to its winegrowers

- The Rioja winery raised more than €5,000 in the 1st First Wine Cycle Ride, which was attended by Peio Ruiz Cabestany, Ángel Arroyo and the Riojan Sheyla Gutiérrez.
Bodegas Tarón gathered 150 cycling fans last Saturday in Tirgo, including active professional cyclists such as Sheyla Gutiérrez and legends such as Ángel Arroyo and Peio Ruiz Cabestany. This 𝐈 𝐌𝐚𝐫𝐜𝐡𝐚 𝐂𝐢𝐜𝐥𝐢𝐬𝐭𝐚 𝐝𝐞𝐥 𝐏𝐫𝐢𝐦𝐞𝐫 𝐕𝐢𝐧𝐨, was a successful day that served to celebrate the end of the harvest and to pay tribute to the people who make it possible, the winegrowers of the four villages of Territorio Tarón: Tirgo, Sajazarra, Villaseca and Cuzcurrita de Río Tirón.
The cyclists, despite the weather, set off from Bodegas Tarón at 9 a.m. and then continued through Sajazarra, Cellorigo Villaseca, Cuzcurrita de Río Tirón, Herramelluri, Villalobar, Castañares, Casalarreina, Tirgo and ended the ride at Bodegas Tarón. The President of the Government of La Rioja, Gonzalo Capellán, was present at the winery and took part in the events organised to raise funds for the association VencELA La Rioja, whose aim is to help relatives and those affected by Amyotrophic Lateral Sclerosis (ALS). With the registration of the participants and with the coupons for the gastronomic tastings, more than €5,000 was raised for the benefit of the association.
During the non-competitive cycle ride, a stop was made to pay tribute to the cooperative’s winegrowers for being the ones who are truly responsible for the wines produced by the winery. They were presented with a bottle of the first wine from their village for the 2023 vintage.
