Bodegas Tarón, official wine of the 2025 International Journalism Awards

For the second consecutive year, Bodegas Tarón was the official wine of the 2025 International Journalism Awards, an event that brought together leading figures from national and international journalism at the iconic Cecilio Rodríguez Gardens Pavilion in Retiro Park (Madrid) on 30 October.

Organised by the Association of Foreign Press Correspondents (ACPE), the International Press Club (CIP), the Association of Arab Journalists and Writers in Spain (APEAE) and the African Press Association (APA), these awards recognise the work of media outlets, journalists and organisations committed to defending freedom of expression, rigorous reporting and social commitment. For all these reasons, our presence here reaffirms Bodegas Tarón’s link with the world of culture.

‘For us, participating in awards that celebrate freedom of the press and the pursuit of truth is a real honour,’ said Ángel Samaniego, president of Bodegas Tarón, who attended the event on behalf of the winery. ‘Wine and journalism share something essential: both are born of time, observation and honesty. They are the result of patient work and a commitment to reality.’

This year’s awards went to prestigious names such as El Español, Teatro de La Zarzuela, Guía Repsol, the Spanish Paralympic Team, David Alandete, Sebastián Álvaro, the Association of European Journalists, Cécile Thibaud, Sonia Tercero, Antonio Pelayo, Médicos Sin Fronteras and Ethiopian Airlines. A list that reflects the diversity and global reach of contemporary journalism.

During the evening, award winners and guests were able to taste some of Bodegas Tarón’s most representative wines, including Tarón Reserva and Tarón Tempranillo Blanco.

With this collaboration, Bodegas Tarón reaffirms its commitment to culture, communication and the values that unite people beyond borders, toasting those who work every day to tell the stories that transform the world.
