28/05/2025‘Pantocrator is much more than an exceptional wine. It is a symbol of who we are and where we come from’. This is what Ángel Samaniego, president of Bodegas Tarón, says in this interview where he reveals what this very special wine represents for the winery. A journey through the history, the winemaking legacy of Territorio Tarón and the evolution of quality from the tradition of our grandparents to today’s excellence.
At Bodegas Tarón, every wine we make is a declaration of intent. A reflection of who we are, where we come from and where we are going. And if there is one wine that embodies this philosophy in its purest form, it is Pantocrátor.
Pantocrátor 2015 is not only one of the flagships of our winery, it is also a symbol of Territorio Tarón. From its label -which represents one of the Romanesque reliefs of our churches- to its complexity on the palate, this wine pays tribute to the history, culture and know-how of generations of winegrowers who have shaped this landscape.
In the words of the president of Bodegas Tarón, Ángel Samaniego, ‘the peculiarity of this wine is given by the ageing capacity due to the geological characteristics of our territory, as well as the climatic conditions’. He also adds that ‘the good work of our winegrowers, the legacy of a great tradition, makes this wine an exceptional wine’. It is not in vain that Pantocrátor has established itself as a benchmark wine in the premium wine market, ranking among the most highly valued for its uniqueness, elegance and longevity.
Pantocrátor 2015 is a deep and harmonious wine. Cherry red in colour with brick-red hues, it offers intense complexity on the nose, with notes of ripe fruit, sweet spices, leather and tobacco. On the palate, it is structured, ample and balanced, with a long, silky finish. A wine that speaks of time, patience and excellence.
As always at Tarón, the winemaking process is based on the utmost respect for nature. ‘First, to achieve maximum quality from our grapes. Then, in the winery, and thanks to the exceptional team of people who make up the winery, we always aim for a scrupulous winemaking process, always seeking excellence’, summarises Samaniego.
Pantocrator is also the testimony of an evolution. From the traditional winemaking of our grandparents and great-grandparents – who already valued the quality of the vineyard and long ageing times – to a modern, professionalised viticulture that is increasingly aware of the environment.
Today, as then, we still believe in authenticity, in respect for the land and in the strength of a territory that makes us unique. Pantocrator 2015 is proof that the past and the future can meet in a glass of wine.
