To observe the present we must not forget the past. For Bodegas Tar\u00f3n<\/strong>, the material and immaterial legacy left to us by our great-grandparents forms an essential part of our values. This love for the land guides each of our steps and, although societies, techniques and ways are evolving, we feel the responsibility to pass it on. \u00c1ngel Samaniego, president of Bodegas Tar\u00f3n, explains what this special idiosyncrasy consists of, what we call ‘Tar\u00f3n Character’.<\/p>\n

The basis of Tar\u00f3n is the union of the four villages that make up its territory: Cuzcurrita de R\u00edo Tir\u00f3n, Sajazarra, Tirgo and Villaseca.<\/strong> It is the passion and effort that each winegrower puts into working each plant as if it were the only one in his vineyard. It is a very old way of working, but it is the one that works. As president of Bodegas Tar\u00f3n, I feel the absolute responsibility to maintain it. At this stage, I have to be the channel to transmit the concerns and ideas of each person who lives in Tar\u00f3n. And they are not few, it is a wide and varied range that extends from those who prune a vine to those who enjoy a glass of wine.<\/p>\n

Fortunately, with each passing year we see that the Bodegas Tar\u00f3n cooperative, made up of 200 members<\/strong>, is becoming more and more important because it helps us to keep the population in rural areas. It is this population that takes care of nature and the countryside that feeds us, as well as passing on the history and culture of our ancestors. I remember how my mother and grandfather used to talk about natural balance; about respect for each animal and plant species that accompany us in life and are absolutely essential to be able to cultivate our fields.<\/p>\n

In this sense, the main actions we take are aimed at strengthening our region. To make each person feel that their success is the success of all. Therefore, on this path of growth, we can carry out activities that give value to each person that makes up Tar\u00f3n and do our bit in projects focused on social and solidarity good.<\/p>\n

Our ancestors dug caves on the northern slopes of the villages to make and store wine hundreds of years ago. They got ahead by uniting and working together. Nowadays, we are going through a structural and economic crisis, but, as previous generations did, working together with enthusiasm and improving day by day, we will be able to toast in the future for the past and the future.
